It's an OBE.
OBEs are a natural part of life, and they happen all the time. The thing is that when you go to sleep you miss the exit. When you start working on lucid dreaming, what you are doing is training your mind to stay aware when your body goes to sleep, so you can consciously control the outcome, or try to understand why you are having the nightmares (what is your subconscious trying to tell you?).
When you do these type of awareness practices (including meditation) you start to become aware of states known as liminal (in between) and pretty much all your symptoms are of a separation and reintegration.
Because you are semi-lucid in your state, you are still 'bound' by physical limitations as to how far you can go, what the expectation of the experience; this can be helped (to gain control and get more energy) if you start doing energy work.
A few things you can do to get you more information is to read the post "Your First Conscious Projection"-in it you will read about a lot of the symptoms you are having in terms of an OBE.
You should also read Robert's Treatise on Astral Projection part 1 is the part I linked.
