This spontaneous OBE occured about 4 years ago. It started from within a sleeping state, where my mind "woke up" while my body didn't. I was familiar with the sensation from previous instances and I encouraged myself to leave my body and move around. It doesn't alsways work, but this time it did. I flew around the bedroom a few times and looked down at my wife who was asleep beside me. I could see both her physical body and her astral body (sorry I'm not sure exactly of the terminology yet- by "astral body" I mean that part of her that could leave her body like I had.) This had happened once before, but this time I knew that I could pick up her astral body and take her for a ride. (She had not had any OBE's herself.) I did this and flew around the room a few times before returning her to her body and me to mine, and back to sleep.

When I woke up in the morning I remembered the events very clearly. A few moments later my wife woke up and immediately said, "I think I may have had one of theose out of body experiences last night." Her uncertainty about it was just the perfect match to my memory of what had happened- her astral body remained asleep as I flew her around.
