I wasn't sure if you've already tried this, so just disregard this if it doesn't apply ... but there was a time when I thought the same thing was happening with my arms. I could feel the blankets lifting up with them, and would snap out of it because of the frustrated feeling. But I started noticing that the moment after I snapped out of it, my arms AND the blankets would instantly be back down on the bed.

So I decided to just go with the flow the next time this happened. My arms rose up in the air, along with the blankets -- but I managed to stay calm, and soon noticed that they were ASTRAL blankets rising up with my arms. When I got high enough above the bed, the blankets disappeared.
