i am beginning to get frustrated, because this is the only thing getting in my way from having a conciously induced obe. everytime an obe is about to happen, my heart sort of jumps a little in excitement.. then everything fades away. I try very hard to stay relaxed, everything I can imagine to trick my mind to relaxing... but no matter what, I just cant hold it together long enough
what is it that you all do? when the obe starts to appear, and the signs start to show.. naturally excitement occurs because it is an intriguing thing, but 100% relaxation is needed.. so is there a technique you use? what is it? or is it just practice?
I recommend calming your mind, keeping your mind relaxed and quiet, and training LOTS of OBE and dream recall.

When everything happens up to that stage, and then the experience falls short, I have the strong feeling that what is happening you have an OBE and remember the "wrong half" of it! I think you might be catching what is the actual exit from the physical body's side and just remember your body's experience instead of that of your astral double.

Perhaps Robert's exercises in MAP for putting your consciousness out in the room by spinning awareness outside your body might help loosening that, too. Also be aware that the frustration you feel or any other strong emotions in your body might prevent the download of "the other memory". Furthermore Robert's simulated OBE training where you learn a certain set of activities for your first short OBE and returning back immediately might help remembering it.

I really think that the problem at the stage might not be having no OBE, but not remembering the OBE part. I really recommend you to dig into all the exercises geared towards this problem laid down in MAP.

Take good care,
Oliver
