I am getting better at entering the trance state, where I no longer feel the parameters of the physical body. Soon after I get a slight falling sensation where I feel I fall about 3 inches into the bed. At that point, my mind becomes more awake/conscious, and I become aware of my physical body once again, and I feel the projection process has been truncated. My question is, what can I do to get past becoming so alert when the falling feeling comes on?

Any insight anyone has is greatly appreciated.

I agree with Aunt Clair in that I don't think the problem is awareness related. Like she said there are other reasons in which after you have projected (which is what I think is what's happening) your awareness vehicle isn't moving away. As she related various possibilities I won't repeat them, I'll just add to them-Awareness of your physical body isn't necessarily a bad thing, contrary to what some modalities teach. It just means you have to focus more on your energy body and on your target, which is the exit. If you feel you can't get out of your body, try a different position (i.e. a recliner instead of a bed- I get out easier that way, for whatever reason) or try to concentrate on an outside target to direct your attention at. But don't consider the projection to be over- it can be that the exit method needs to change, and your energy work needs to adapt, like AC said- like dumping heavy elements to ground or asking for help. I do the second and it works for me.
