ps. After looking at your post again, I tend to think it was not an RTZ OBE, because you picked up the phone- your hand should have gone through it. Even though reality fluctuations are common, I'm thinking that if you did project to his workplace, you could have created the encounter itself, as in "your dreaming mind taking over" the projection.
Of course, I could be wrong, as always.
