that's the thing i remember most about my OBE experiences as a child.i remember waking up in that state, and trying to get back to that feeling many times, thinking it was something to do with the position of my head.
I doubt the position of the head plays a role. (Okay, I have no good reason, but I still do. )

Maybe it had to do with the fact that you had an easier time to let go as a child than now. I think relaxed attention comes easier to a child than it does to an adult. Playfulness might play a role.

Or you are right and had a slight sleep problem that kept awaking you?

However, it is "just" a state between wake and sleep, something you can find again through relaxing. Awaking into it is a trick, because the relaxation in sleep comes naturally. But I think you should be able to induce this rather easily just by relaxing body *and* mind.

Focus 10/12 help with this, but funnily enough the state is easier to find without the Monroe tapes after learning it. The instructions make me kind of tense. Or the expectation that something has to happen "now" or that another instruction might break my concentration. I find it easiest just to sit down, relax and try to go Focus 10 and 12 by the counting method.

Take good care,
Oliver
