Does anyone here know if Guru's of Hindu tradtions offer O.B.E. instruction to their devotees. If so what tradition and form of yoga is this most common to. I ask because I intend on becoming a devotee of a Hindu Guru soon but I'm deciding which tradition is for me and what form of yoga to seek out as well.
I am especially fond of Bhakti yoga. My ultimate goal in life is union with God , but I feel that sharing O.B.E.'s with a fully realized being would accomplish many of my life's lesser goals.
From my experience, by Guru, do you mean teacher, like a yoga teacher? If you seek union then find a simple but true Yoga instructor. Big, almost famous type Gurus (like Sai Baba) who preach alot are usually not the best bet in my opinion. If you seek a true instructor, you will find one, or he/she will find you. That being said, any form of yoga will do, see what kind of instructor you find. Then, don't ask your instructor about obe, because the best teacher will not tell you much of anything, only how to properly do yoga. They do this because whilst meditating you will soon find that the answers will come to you. It would do no good to you ultimately to have it explained. It is a process of understanding one's self that can take one week or ten years, but time is not important here. Soon, obe's will become very easy (and much more) if you truly practice yoga, but it takes discipline and you will see that having obe's is only a tip of the iceberg. The slogan, "Just do it" applies here
