I've had that happen often in my very early OBE training; I was using techniques like imagining myself in a rocking chair, or visualizing a cube flying up and down and grabbing on to it... I would get these very powerful, albeit very brief "rushes" where I could feel the visualized movement in full force...

I'm convinced that these are simply part of the hypnogogic imagery -- it's usually images and sounds, but there's no reason it couldn't be physical sensations as well, especially when it comes to the sense of 3D which relies mostly on sight and the inner ear; when you doze off, those just go to the background.

My mother gets it a lot... She is a spontaneous projector who is extremely scared of OBEs.. She often tells me how she feels that "she's about to go," she describes it as the feeling you get when going down a fast elevator, or when the car goes down a slope on the highway. It actually sounds a lot like what you described, CF, like it's not just you but everything that is moving at once.

Half an hour is a long time! I guess it's probably the result of being so used to "noticing" versus "totally flipping out."
