Lots of different people have experimented with different tactics for this kind of thing. Some manifest an astral sword or similar such weapon, others attempt communication with their astral assailant and some even try the love, light and hugs method.

It's possible that your astral nuisance is a projection you've created or a "neg" of independent origin or something else and you've misinterpreted its actions and intent.
