Projecting straight into your childhood home is fairly common to all projectors. I think maybe we get conditioned to 'go' there, because we got used to doing it as children, and it just happens. Another possible reason is that we have unresolved issues that started in our childhood, so by unconsciously processing stuff makes us 'tune into' way back home.
Just an idea.
