Isn't it possible that while out of body, we are the ones who are creating the environment around us and it's not a physical one? If this holds true, then the mind/subconscious/soul/whatever creates the environment, may does so from the memories of current phyiscal surroundings, or past ones held in the projector's memory.

I know someone will come and mention reality fluctuations. But in my two short OOBEs and in most other people's (from the posts I read here), the reality around the projectos is mostly something different that the "real" one. So maybe we shouldn't talk about reality fluctuations, this may be the standard, while a reality identical to the one we experience in the waking life maybe is an exception!

Of course this is all the humble opinion of someone *not* experienced in OOBEs, who just had two spontaneous ones that maybe even were not OOBEs. I'm just expressing my opinions.
