Hmm - I had an experience at least once. I did not see anything, but it seemed like my sense of touch had turned 3D and I just *knew* where everything was. Really hard to describe. I felt not blind, even though technically I was, but more like somebody shut down the light and I still knew where everything was. Where my awareness went, I knew where everything was.

Something like that?
