I think we're talking about 2 different types of experiences here. In the 'dream' state you spoke about and the clarification of your post following mine It sounds as though you had a 'conscious OBE', but that's just my .02.

As far as your Son visiting you in your dreams, that's a definitive! That is one of the most common ways that our departed ones communicate with us. They visit us in our dreams for several reasons, one being they don't want to traumatize you any more than necessary and two, it's a way they will get your attention and you will have more of an acceptance of their presense this way.

You stated it's been two years since your Son passed over, again, I can't begin to imagine your pain. I'm sure your Son is trying to let you know that he really is okay by way of dreams or however he can get your attention. Acknowledge him, talk to him out loud he can hear you. You might find that things aren't as complicated as they seem. Look for him in the things he loved to do, he'll be there for you.

Question....Are there different "types" of obe's? I am confused. I thought there was only one type.

Again, I have had 2 obe's, and this experience was nothing like the obe's I had as a child. Also, I used to lucid dream all the time. And again, this was not a lucid dream or a dream. I knew I was physically awake. I was seeing something (through closed eyelids).
