Was just reading an OBE article that also mentions these lights. In it, the author states that Psychologists refer to these as "ideoretinal lights". They can also be referred to as eighenlicht or entopic lights.
Don't know if this is the same phenomenon, but perhaps a Google or two will help you find out.
