Thanks for the responses folks.
faerylight, some of what you describe sounds like what I see but when you describe seeing something different as a connections symptom, that isn't what happens with me. I ahve been wondering & trying to find a way to test these sparks for as long as I can remember. I was about 14 when I realised not everyone had the gazillions of tiny sparkles in their vision. As stated earlier, I thought initially it was a product of shortsightedness, but laser surgery gave me excellent vision & I still have the sparkles.
There are no sides with mine - they are simply there, right across my vision, constantly, eyes open or shut, bright lights or dim. They are so ubiquitous that I think any change would be instantly noticed.
Also present are the after images everyone gets, faint lines & occasional pulses that correlate to blood vessel activity, occasional sudden & brief single tiny glows at infrequent intervals (can be days between them) & one other mystery - a kind of electric-blue circle that starts large & faint & shrinks towards the centre of my vision, getting denser & brighter as it does. Before it reaches centre, another is on its way. At times this is very noticeable & sometimes I can concentrate to see it & sometimes I can't see it happening at all.
