The way of proving it that you suggest is good, but the problem is that for some people there is no convincing them, some people just can't be reasoned with. But don't worry about that, on the surface it may seem like the world is very materialistic, but actually skeptics are in the minority. Most people believe in the "paranormal" or are open-minded, they are just more concerned with "real life" than exploring things like AP, especially since it is so much work for most. For now, just worry about learning about AP yourself, when you do, you'll learn so many other things along the way.
