For about the past 5 years when I have been in a nice relaxed even meditative state I have been seeing energy coming out of the rear of peoples crown.

The energy centre on the scalp is sophisticated and not limited to the core opening on its centre . There is a stage when the core is ringed by olive sized energy centres . Also at a certain stage , stones will build up behind the magician causing energy to be seen as you described . Stones are energy storage centres also called tan tiens .

Another strange sensation I have been experiencing is when I do open eye meditation and everything gets a lot lighter and more fluctuating and wavers. Has anyone else experienced this at all or knows what in terms of aura or astral sight it is? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers Ben This is a typically reported symptom when in a light trance just before a stage where the walls may seem to melt away allowing open eyed clairvoyance of other realms or RTZ remote viewing . Congrats !
