My question is, since AP is 'mind travel' how can one possibly learn new information one never heard of before in the astral dimension? Every experience of the astral world is the result of subconscious explorations. Am i right? AP is more consciousness travel than mind, which is tied to earth consciousness and ego. My feeling is that the mind is what happens physically. Chemicals moving along synapses creating responses. Kind of a biological machine experience. You can do math with just the mind. But, to fully use consciousness, you have to engage your imagination and suspend the disbelief of the mind. We do this a lot in dreams and even just contemplation. Although I'm a computer dingbat, I think of the mind as the hard drive and imagination as the programs. Imagination may seem unreal and absurd to the mind, but in the astral it is more real than the physical. I think we exist more in the astral than in the physical body.

So, to learn more than what the mind has learned is actually quite easy. All consciousness is connected. The hard part is remembering it. If you were really good at using your consciousness, you could hear what the person next to you is thinking. This is because all consciousness is linked. Suspend disbelief, and you will be more open to knowing what else is out there. Most people seem to have to train themselves to do this, or unlearn the programming that imagination is fake or false. Some people are born with more awareness, so it comes easier without so much training.

Daydreaming would probably be the most common and easiest way to access the astral. You are creating thought forms. If you want to be with a person who has physically rejected you, you could daydream that you are happy together. In one of the realms of consciousness, you have actually created a thought form of this happening. It probably disintegrates after you quit thinking about it, because you haven't put enough conscious energy into it to make it more stable. You can do this in any form of altered consciousness...dreams, daydreams, introspection, mind awake/body asleep (trance), lucid dreaming, OBE to the RTZ, AP, Phasing, even insanity. I think insanity is merely consciousness that has been trapped for the most part in the astral and can't seem to maintain the illusion of this life being real. The astral is more real to that person than waking consciousness on earth.

Spirit guides are usually just other forms of yourself with more awareness. Different names would be your other incarnations, Higher Self, Guide, Monroe's "I-There" or "Disk", and from Eastern beliefs "OverSoul". Some may be more aware and have greater knowledge than others. From my other incarnations that I've met, it seems that my OverSoul has a lot more awareness and knowledge of the big picture than individual non-incarnating guides (example...I have a female Indian guide from a past life that was me, among others). I rarely communicate with those because I like to go higher up to where the "buck stops".
