Last night I went to bed with the intention of trying astral projections. I drifted off to sleep before I could successfully project.

As I often do in the night, I woke up after a dream. started to meditate, trying to build an image of the room of my bedroom in my head, and see myself stepping out of my body and into the astral plane. After a time I could hear the buzzing start up in my head. I usually get this during my abduction/sleep paralysis nightmares. I could sense an energy behind me and to my left. This was unusual as I usually cannot sense the entities - they can block them completely. I then realize it was my cat, who crawled up and laid on my side. This made me realize that this is the buzzing that frequently occurs just before astral projections.

I tried to separate and lift from my body. The buzzing was loud, and was making even my skeleton hum with the vibration. I could not move. I remembered reading that instead of trying to move yourself, it may work if you imagine object moving towards you. I asked the Goddess to please help me move past the paralysis and let me be free to enter the astral plane. I focused on my ceiling fan above my head moving towards me, and I begin to drift towards the fan. WOW! What an amazing feeling! I put my hands out to try to grab the fan and I realize they are covered with sparkling lights. Everything around me was dark.

I decided to leave my room and go to the hallway. The farther I got from my body, the brighter and clearer my vision became. I think about where I can go to validate my experience. I could visit a friend and see what their house looks like and then verify it later. I think about a friend with whom I had a falling out with. I decide not got go, but I am distracted and I think about how far I can go safely. I look back to my body and I get pulled back into my body.

I should not have looked back. I know there is a silver cord, so you can not get lost. Still, instinct kicked in. Next time, I will not let fear get me.

My question is - what made my hands looks sparkly?
