I experienced the phenomenon when I was in my last year of unit (about 18 years ago)! I was reading a book that had to be read quickly and I was really tired. I was on my back in bed. I had closed my eyes, without realising, but was still holding the book up (I know that sounds a bit unbelievable). Anyway, I finished the page before I realised my eyes were closed.

Back then, knew nothing about astral sight and thought it must have been an example of what people meant by photographic memory.

Have never had problems with astral sight in my few OBEs. At most, a bit of strobing and issues with bi-location.
