Sophroniscus: The reason I asked is because some people are better than others at certain disciplines. If you can meditate for a long period of time, why not try remote viewing? I have done it on occasion (when I didn't fall asleep) and the way I did it was simply to look at the swirly colors (I know they tell you to look past them, but that's not how I do it) remembering not to jump in. If you get a lot of pictures, try to remember them and maybe write them down if you find them interesting (I once had 2 doctors talking to each other- I thought that wasn't an everyday occurrence so I wrote that down.) Anyway, instead of trying to get out, practice clarivoyance as an end in itself. You could be surprised if all of a sudden you find yourself outside. Sometimes wanting somethihng and not feeling that you can do it can get in the way and actually if you keep your focus inward (not until you're bored, through) you can develop that part of it.
I hope this helps you a teeny tiny bit at least...
