I'm reading Robert Bruce's PPSD (as I'm also on MAP Day 3) and I'm learning that I've experienced alot of things without knowing the names of what was happening.

For example Waking Paralysis. I experienced this often several years ago. I was living in a house alone for a year. For an unknown reason to me, I refused to sleep with the light off. I was only comfortable sleeping with the light on.

There were times that I'd find myself aware but not fully awake, I now recognize it as waking paralysis. I remember that I couldn't move - try as hard as I could, I was unable to move or speak. Also one of two things would also be occuring. If I was sleeping on my back (laying face up), I could see with astral sight a dog standing over me. It was standing over me, with it's face at my face. Sometimes I'd also see hands reaching to my face. The other thing that would happen, if I was laying on my side, I'd feel someone behind me, pushing at my back.

It wouldn't last long but it would be very terrifying. Then I'd wake up, shake it off, and seem to forget about it. This happened often during the year that I lived in that house - it was an old house. It did happen while I left the light on at night. It hasn't happened to me since I moved out of that house 3 years ago.
