Maybe three times I've woken up with the vibrations (sometimes buzzing, sometimes humming, or warbling) but my eyes were closed, so I didn't see if there was anything different.

Sounds like "reality fluctuations" robert bruce talks about. At this site, I think, actually. It at least talks about it in Astral Dynamics the book.
