Its not actually. The reason paleoconservatives oppose "invite the world, invade the world", is because they disagree with the basic premise. Namely the whole idea that we "have to fight them there so we don't fight them here".

The propose the radical idea of leaving them to their own devices while just politely declining to let them here, will keep us much safer than trashing random countries and bombing people back to the stone age.

But naturally agitating for wars that kills hundreds of thousands of civilians in order to "spread democracy" is much more acceptable than lowering immigration quotas.
