if you must get a rear projection TV then get Mitsubishi. It has a solid projection tube with hi-contrast and will last you for years without degrading much.
I don't like rear view as much anymore because you never really get a very sharp picture, scanning lines are quite visible, if you are not viewing it at a head level then the pictures becomes dull, convergence can go off etc.
It would be a bitch to transport it here without damaging the unit somewhat.
I still suggest, get a 40 inch picture tube monster and you will be very impressed.
