Wait until 2016. Not only shorter summer because of the Wimbledon shift, but another Olympic year. The Rio Olympics will be a week later (August 5-21) than London. US Open will be August 29-Sept 11. If tennis remains in the first week, that would leave only two weeks between the Olympics and USO for Canada and Cincinnati (never mind New Haven/Dallas) and neither week would be desirable for the top players to play.
Rio should be hard courts so at least that will serve as a good tune up for NY.
