McEnroe Arrives For New Event In Stockholm, Sweden

John McEnroe arrived in Stockholm, Sweden for a new event on the ATP Champions Tour, and immediately set his sights on the title.

McEnroe, 53, has been drawn into a tough group with former World No.1 Thomas Muster, the 1987 Wimbledon champion Pat Cash and the 1986 French Open runner-up, Mikael Pernfors. Pernfors is a late replacement for Mats Wilander, who is still unavailable after injuring himself in a fall in Melbourne.

Cash will provide the opposition on day one for McEnroe, with the other round-robin group featuring another former World No.1 Stefan Edberg against Wayne Ferreira, and the 2001 Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic vs. big-hitting Swede, Magnus Larsson.
