The French Davis Cup article mentioned his upcoming retirement, though it did not give a date. Could this be a last stand, or is there a small event near his home that we might expect an announcement?

My money would be on Nice. Pretty close to Aix-en-Provence, where he's from. Marseille is even closer, but I doubt he'll wait until next February.
