man Tash - you really make me want to do this!

what GPS do you use?
I actually just use my TomTom and it works fine. Just remember if you're not using a handheld that it takes it a little while to "catch up" once you get out of the car.

ok so I just joined, and there are HUNDREDS around my town, and about a dozen out in Galveston.

I'm not sure exactly what each one is supposed to be though. And do you always get to claim them? Like say you found them?

One girl said I have to e-mail her answers to things and pictures to prove I was there - are they all like that?

or Are some of them where you just go and take things from the box?
Yeah, when you said there weren't many in LA I was thinking "I bet she hasn't checked in a while"...LOL You can always claim them...there should be a log inside the cache that you sign and date, then you go on the website Sammy listed and log it as found.

The one that you were talking about w/ the photos and questions is what's called a "virtual cache." Those are fairly common, but not the norm (although I find them to be a lot of fun). The "normal" or what is called a "traditional cache" is what you're talking about where you find the cache and remove an item while leaving something of equal value in it's place. There are many different kinds of caches (multiples, traditional, virtual, letterboxes) and I think there's a good explanation somewhere on the website for each type. It really IS a lot of fun, Janie...I think you'd like it. I would go in a group, though, unless it's a well lit area that you feel safe going to alone.
