I said Stallworth deserved more time also, Ti. He got the sentence he got because he paid off the victim's family was deemed to have expressed the appropriate level of remorse, in the judges' and prosecutors, and victims' family's eyes.

I think you go into a nightclub that is full of people with a loaded gun, and the gun goes off, it doesn't matter if no one, yourself, or others got shot. He was playing with the gun in the club, while drinking. He was fortunate it was only himself that got shot, and that should not matter one bit. You've committed a felony under NY law, for which the mandatory minimum is 3 1/2 to 5 years. If you want to stop gun violence, start by enforcing the laws that you have on the books.

This is just one that always bothers me. Why do you need a loaded gun when you are going out drinking and partying. If you want to drink and party, hire a bodyguard. If you want to carry around a gun, go to the shooting range - sober, of course.
