ATP Champions Tour Field & Schedule Set For Delray Beach
Martin, Pernfors & Arias added to Florida's only ATP Champions Tour Event


DELRAY BEACH, FL: Todd Martin, Mikael Pernfors and Jimmy Arias have been added to the lineup for the ATP Champions Tour event at the 2011 Delray Beach International Tennis Championships (ITC) Feb. 18-27 at the Delray Beach Stadium & Tennis Center.

The trio join Grand Slam champions John McEnroe, Mats Wilander and Pat Cash, two-time Grand Slam finalist Mark Philippoussis, and 1990 US Davis Cup champion Aaron Krickstein in rounding out the 8-man roster for the 2nd annual event. The ATP Champions Tour matches kick off 10 days of ATP action in Delray Beach that also includes the 19th annual ATP World Tour event.

The ATP Champions Tour event begins Friday, Feb. 18 at 7:00 pm with Martin meeting Arias, followed by a Philippoussis vs. Cash nightcap. McEnroe, the runner-up in the inaugural Delray Beach ATP Champions Tour event a year ago, opens against Arias at 9:00 pm on Saturday (Feb. 19). The ATP Champions Tour event is played in a round robin format, with both the final and 3rd & 4th playoff matches contested on Tuesday (Feb. 22).

A two-time Grand Slam runner-up and a member of the 1995 US Davis Cup champion team, Martin won his first ATP title in 1993 in the inaugural ITC that was held in Coral Springs. He was a finalist at the '94 Australian Open and the '99 US Open and also reached the semifinals in 1994 at Wimbledon and the US Open, and Wimbledon again in 1996.

Pernfors, the 1986 French Open finalist who now lives in Vero Beach, was on the winning Swedish Davis Cup team in 1987. He turned pro after a successful collegiate career where he won back-to-back NCAA singles titles in 1984 and 1985.

Arias, a member of the Tennis Channel broadcast team for the last decade, reached No. 6 in the world as a 19-year-old in 1983, when he reached the semifinals of the US Open. He also played on the US Davis Cup team between 1983 and 1987.
