I imagine it was a bit faster for someone like Venus. But yes, for the general population of people who receive abysmal health care in the U.S., I can imagine it taking several years. That used to be, and to some degree still is, the case with conditions like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which many health professionals continue to think is a "fake" disease because they can't see it on microscopes.
