The French Open final, featuring two names most people did not expect to see at this stage of the tournament. 29 yo AO finalist Na Li taking on 30 yo French Open defending champion Francesca Schiavone. This is the first time Na Li has gotten beyond the 4th round of the French.

Career H2H - 2-2. Only 1 meeting on clay, at last year's French R32 - Schiavone took that in straights. They have played another Slam match, at the US in '09, which Li won in straights.

The two have never met in a final - in fact, they have never met in a semi, or a quarter final.
