This has me confused. Not an uncommon state, mind you, but I'm trying to recall similar situations. Amanmuradova, Niculescu and Hercog were all scheduled to play qualies today for Madrid. But all three were active in other events - Polona and Akgul in Barcelona, Monica in Estoril. I've always thought if a qualy player was unavailable, they got replaced in the draw. But it looks like they might have postponed their matches, rather than replace them (or advance their opponents). Anyone know if that's the case? I don't know that I have seen that happen before (though I am the first to admit I could just have easily missed it). All three were seeded, and according to the OOP Ti-Amie posted, at least two of them (Akgul and Polona) were supposed to play.
