as for the WTA list, placing Sharapova ahead of Venus is laughable.

Not only is it, the writer saying "Just think of what she could have done with a modicum of interest" is ridiculous. Less we forget Venus had Serena, Capriati, Lindsay and to some extent Martina H to contend with when she was making her early runs. She also had a heap of injuries it's so funny how they quickly forget that.

I also don't know if I would have put Maria and even Kim ahead of Lindsay either but...
