I don't know if Kohlschreiber/Djokovic should be there, particularly in the context of Novak's confidence at the time. Also, he was unfairly getting zero press as a favorite or even contender, so it seems like an upset was expected there.
I remember being nearly positive that there was gonna be a Novak-Roger SF. I don't think his confidence was considered that low at the time. He had just had a clay court tournament win and had played Rafa very close on the dirt 3 times in a month or so. At the time, it seemed like a big upset but became less surprising as his year unfolded. But that same train of thought can be applied to Rafa-Soderling, which has become much less surprising to me as the facts of his knee problems and family troubles come to light. Looking in hindsight, the US Open final is the upset of the year for me. I still can't totally grasp that one in my mind.
