Dinara playing Portoroz over this actual tournament is, I hope we can all agree, ridiculous.

Not if she's using Portoroz as a tournament to work on specific aspects of her game (e.g., her serve) before heading to North America, where the competition will get a lot stiffer. Not saying that's the case, but it's possible.
