1. Kaffir Boy was one of my favorite books growing up. I had no idea that....Africans can be so discriminated and abused in Africa. Talk about growing up in a bubble. It was also deeply saddening and humbling and I read it over and over and over.

2. I'm not sure it's the tour's responsibility to raise tennis players to be sensitive....racially, sexually, religiously, or otherwise. I DO believe it is the tour's responsibility to promote, cultivate and enforce the kind of expectations that they have for....players that will be with them....on THEIR tour. And to punish offenders in an acceptable manner. Everyone is responsible for educating others about what is acceptable and what is not acceptable. I expect the ATP to do this. I expect the WTA to do this. I expect the ITF to do this. If you work for someone....you follow their rules. I expect the ATP to promote an environment that is free from certain types of hostility. Fan hostility I can deal with. Calling someone a K-word or an N-word or an F-word is all unacceptable.

3. The ATP wants to send a message and this is the perfect way to do it, especially to those juniors who think they can behave any way they want and suffer no repercussions. Excuse moi! Not on this tour you can't! I say...WAY TO GO ATP!
