Is this really new news? I find it hard to believe that the tour would add a new event to the schedule just three months before it's scheduled. Haven't players sort of made their playing plans by now?

It's a 250 level event, in the first week of the Asian swing. The Thailand Open (also a 250) is also played that week. The next week there are two 500 events, the China Open and Japan Open (although the China Open has 2 1/2 times the prize money), and the next week is the Shanghai Masters 1000. Then the tour returns to Europe (Stockholm and Moscow the next week).
