Maybe he didn't want it, knowing that it could mean another extremely late finish, which just makes the semi that much harder. Better to bite the bullet against Roddick than Federer, perhaps. Esp now that Federer has the late match. I'm not sure how much this really affects experienced players deep in a Slam when they have a day between matches.
Yeah, I seem to remember reading something about him saying he didn't mind playing the night match occasionally, but didn't want to do too many of them because they ended so late--he's probably not too upset.
