Anyways, seems that politics had much to do with it. Bs As governor Daniel Scioli (Mr Kirchner's VP) backed MdP candidacy and promised 10 mill U$ to the city to get it ready for the DC.

I'd discount Vilas as a factor. Haven't heard a peep out of him.
Besides, MdP is not the Prime beach resort here.

I defer to you on this. Here just because you don't hear someone flapping their lips doesn't mean they don't have influence but since everyone and their brother weighed in on this maybe he didn't actively participate.
