Gotta admit, I found the spirituality reference intersting. Never heard this from Kolya, though I have to admit, he's not someone I go out of my way to keep up on.

But even I have to admit the "the public loves me so much" line seems a bit of a stretch. I always got the sense that people were mostly indifferent to him.

Even in Russia, there are many that are uninspired by him or dislike him, but I've found that number dwindling lately. I think a lot of people feel he's been victimized by the legal case and really rallied for him in the last year and a half or so. This maybe just Russian fans, but he certainly has some.

As for the spiritual thing, pretty much that's just the effect of translation/editing (not that he's not spiritual, but the "almighty" reference).
