I've gotta figure Sam's good show against Rafa last week (and nice result at Monte Carlo) had everything to do with this.

As for the "**awaiting confirmation of eligibility", that must be just a paperwork thing. I don't think Sam has ever played a team even internationally, but surely he has a US passport. That, having lived in the country for at least 24 months, and not having played for another nation in the past 36 months seem to be the only eligibility standards for Davis Cup.
