I was actually thinking the opposite. Dementieva and Schnyder have a close H2H, but Dementieva has won their last few matches easily, and is playing much better this year overall.

Jankovic-Bammer met here in the 4R last year and went three sets then - when Jelena was playing better tennis than she's playing now. And Bammer seems to have found her form on the hardcourts this summer. Just given Jankovic's state of mind, I think this could be closer than most are predicting.
Valid argument!

But as wacky as Wacky Patty is, she can play good ball when she wants to. Bammer is, well, limited.

Did everyone discuss Bammer's comments yesterday on court after beating Bartoli? It was one of my favorite moments from my 2008 U.S. Open experience.
