Hot chocolate during Wimbledon! Love it! (You probably think it's funny that I enjoy hot chocolate during the Aussie Open.)

Is the speed limit a big deal in New Zealand? In the States, we wouldn't have obeyed the speed limit.
Not that big a deal, but they're sneeky and have hidden speed cameras. The fines are fairly steep (with the price petrol is here - I couldn't afford a fine too!).

http://www.ltsa.govt.nz/factsheets/55.html

Speeding fines increase progressively from $30 for speeds less than 10 km/h over the limit, to a maximum fine of $630 for speeds up to 50 km/h over the limit.

If your speed is more than 50 km/h over the limit you could be charged with careless, dangerous or reckless driving, and at more than 40 km/h above the speed limit you could also get a 28-day licence suspension
.

The speed limit in a built-up area is 50km/h.
