Um, the league has no obligation to do it before the draft. Not to mention, it isn't as if the Packers weren't aware this could be a possibility when they signed him.

You are right, Goodell also has no obligation to be a dick, but he somehow manages that.

However, since there is no precedent for this, maybe they would have thought 2 games, maybe a fine, maybe something else.

I suspect they were tipped off in some way.

Which is why I don't get the Saints' draft picks.
