The harm to the players will be limited due to an expedited appeal schedule. As this case will be decided before the season even starts.

This is actually good news as the court recognizes the importance of getting this resolved in short order.

I suppose they see harm in having a period with no certain rules which will let the owners do what owners inevitably do.

Which is to overpay marginal free agents and then blame the players for being greedy.
