I get the medical side of it and thats fine but to flat out say playing pro football and receiving all the perks that go along with it is not fun...

Cmon...

These guys do something most boys grow up dreaming about. Do it as long as you can.

I think its more along the lines of being too afraid of getting hit to enjoy playing the game. He's got plenty of money, so I doubt he's worried about that.
