PHILADELPHIA, Sep 28, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Comcast today announced that it will bring the NFL's national "free-view" of its NFL RedZone channel to all of its Digital customers. The "free-view" will be available this Sunday, October 4 from 1 PM to 4:15 PM EDT.
"The verdict is in...sports fans are calling NFL RedZone a 'must-have,'" said Derek Harrar, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Video Services for Comcast. "Since the debut was an instant hit, we're opening up the channel to all our digital customers so they can experience the intense live action only available on NFL RedZone."
NFL RedZone, normally on Comcast's Sports Entertainment Package (SEP), is produced by NFL Network and airs every Sunday from 1:00 p.m. EDT through late-afternoon games, providing Comcast SEP customers with every touchdown from every game, as well as live look-ins and real-time highlights. On Sunday afternoons throughout the NFL regular season, the channel keeps fans up-to-date in real time, moving from game to game each time a team is poised to score inside the 20-yard line.
This weekend, NFL RedZone joins Comcast's current offering of live sports programming on its Digital Preferred package, which also includes NFL Network, NBA TV, NHL Network, ESPNU, MLB Network, ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, Golf Channel, Speed and Versus among others. NFL RedZone channel's "free-view" will also be available to Comcast's Digital Starter customers. Comcast's SEP, the usual home for NFL's RedZone, also includes the major professional sports networks, as well as CBS College Sports, Fox College Sports, Fox Soccer, Gol TV, the Tennis Channel and other networks.
